Within the Benelux, we have a team of 550 Danoners, operating from offices in Brussels, Utrecht and our factory in Rotselaar, working on our portfolio which reflects the natural and sustainable way we meet people's desire for better-for-you, great-tasting and locally produced foods, with brands such as Actimel, Oikos, Activia and Danio. Since 2017 Danone is moving towards plant-based food & drinks - with the acquisition of WhiteWave (Alpro).
The Waters Benelux team is based in Brussels and has as mission to inspire people to healthy hydration. It is a lean and dynamic team of approx 25 Danoners, entrepreneurs that like to challenge the status-quo to drive sustainable growth on evian, Volvic and Badoit. In this organisation, it is about growth mindset, bias for action and positive attitude.
Since 1896, Nutricia has pioneered nutritional solutions that help people live longer, more joyful and healthier lives. Everyday, around 1200 Benelux colleagues work in on of our offices and factories on our leading specialized nutrition portfolio. With their work, we support healthy growth and development during the first 1000 days and help to address some of the world’s biggest health challenges; pre-term birth, faltering growth, food allergy, rare metabolic diseases, age-related conditions and chronic disease, such as frailty, cancer, stroke and early Alzheimer’s disease.

Indeed, with our Cycles we protect and secure our key resources (Milk, Water and Plastic) and we take a strategic approach to Procurement to support the business and social agenda of Danone. Among the team of 2000 procurement professionals worldwide, approximatively 280 are based at Danone Place Schiphol working closely together with our colleagues from across the globe.
The Cluster Business Services teams who work primarily at Zoetermeer (NL), DPS (NL) and Brussels (BE) is a strong team supporting all our colleagues throughout the Benelux using their expertise. There are approx. 250 professionals in Legal, Communications, Human Resources, Finance and IS/IT. Even though the focus lies in supporting all Danoners in the Benelux – close collaboration with global and regional teams encourages continuous improvement.
Our ambition is to support healthy growth and development during the first 1000 days, through the unlocking and development of markets across the globe. We do this through our partnerships with 43 distributors across 39 countries (and growing), from Latin America to Southeast Asia. Our employees are the definition of diversity with over 26 different nationalities across almost 65 Danoners. We also work on social projects which aim to increase breast feeding rates in Ecuador and decrease malnutrition among children under the age of 5 in Bolivia.
The 2019 finished and state-of-the-art global Danone Head Quarters, hosts Specialized Nutrition, our global Cycles & Procurement function as well as key supporting functions Human Resources, Finance, IS/IT and General Secretary. Our new “smart”-building is about to achieve certification for our high standards in sustainability and what is implemented to improve it’s employees’ well-being! So it offers a very sustainable, healthy, international and diverse working environment for it’s more than 800 Danoners and visitors.
At our office in Utrecht, we work closely together towards the same goal: to ensure that our beautiful brands, delicious products and out of home channels are well represented in in the Dutch supermarkets. Approximately 50 Danoners work at this office in the fields of Marketing & Sales, Supply chain, Regulatory, Corporate Affairs, Finance and HR. We work together with our colleagues from Belgium and the UK to achieve our goal(s).
In our office in Utrecht we have the brightest minds working on global Research and Innovation projects for Early Life Nutrition and Advanced Medical Nutrition. We opened our office in 2013 and it was realized with a high degree of sustainability in mind. It offers state-of-the-art facilities, such as science and technology laboratories, a pilot plant for small scale production, and a sensory and behavior science lab.
The Nutricia Supply Point Zoetermeer produces specialized liquid medical nutrition contributing to the well-being of vulnerable target groups (infants, elderly and sick) in over 55 countries. This is the largest production plant for Advanced Medical Nutrition, demanding the highest standards in quality and safety. There are 500 Danoners within HR, Health, Safety & Environment, Finance, Supply Chain and Facilities working on various projects: such as engineering, quality and food safety improvements, waste reduction, productivity challenges and many more.
In 1896, over 100 years ago, Nutricia was founded in Zoetermeer and that's why our office is still located here today. There are approx. 300 dedicated Danoners working within Specialized Nutrition for the Benelux, and the Cluster Business Services (General Secretary, Human Resources, Finance, IS/IT) supporting all 8 locations in the Benelux. Additionally, you will find our Nutricia Worldwide team supporting the markets across the globe.
For more than 100 years, we have been producing high-quality baby food at our factory at Cuijk in the Netherlands. Our range of products includes special foods for babies and young children with special dietary needs (because of food allergies, for example). Our well-known brands include Aptamil and Nutrilon.Only 6 km away from our present production site, we are building a new, ultramodern factory ready for the future. The new factory will have a production capacity that is double that of the existing site and we will be using state-of-the-art technologies. The first products will come off the production line in April 2018.
The uniqueness here is that the teams from all our Brands & Activities are represented altogether in one office. There are approx. 275 dedicated Danoners working within Essential Dairy- and Plant- Based, Waters, and Specialized Nutrition. specifically for the Benelux markets. As well as our Cluster Business Services (General Secretary, Human Resources, Finance, IS/IT) teams who support all 8 locations in the Benelux. Our plant consists of a large factory (Europe's largest for drinks) and a Danone-owned distribution center. The factory has been here since the 1960's and has continuously advanced technologically due to innovations and modernizations. Rotselaar has a central location in Belgium making it the ideal supply base for our customers from Belgium and further 22 countries worldwide. It's also easily reachable for all the 450 Danoners that work here.
We firmly believe that the health of people and planet are interconnected. Both need to be nourished and protected. At the same time, the world over, people are reinventing how to eat, drink and socialize over food. In line with our 'One Planet. One Health' vision and to adequately respond to the challenges and opportunities of the ongoing food revolution, we have defined our Danone 2030 Goals.
