The story of

Logistics Project Manager Sourcing and Supplier Development

After my bachelor in Marine Science, I worked as a Marine Officer on the oil and gas ships of Royal Dutch Shell. My MBA brought me to Rotterdam and afterwards I joined Danone as an intern at Early Life Nutrition. Even though it was a completely new industry, I managed to climb up to become Project Manager in just three years. It demonstrates the opportunities this company provides.

Most of my friends work at Danone.

I am responsible for the logistics of the raw materials that are bought by our company worldwide. We aim at reducing the logistic spend, finding ways of synergy and improving the efficiency. I'm proud to play a role in ensuring that our products appear in the most responsible way, adhering to the highest quality and cost efficiency. Coming from the oil industry, I wanted to contribute to the community instead of just to a company.

When I started, I joined a team of 12 people with 9 different nationalities. You learn a lot from your colleagues, both in knowledge and in culture. This not only helps you grow as a professional but also as a human being. The common aspect is the drive of people to create the best possible results. And how we work together corresponds with how we team up outside work. We share the same passion.
