Your Mission

Driving and setting the R&I strategic communication of ELN, including the digital communication strategy and lead the communication towards internal and external stakeholders to underpin our scientific expertise in the first 1000 days.

About the Job

The Senior R&I Communication Manager will be part of the global Early Life Nutrition R&I Communication department based in Utrecht (The Netherlands). Reporting into ELN R&D Communication and Strategy Director, your mission will be to develop visibility and reputation of our R&D centres, expertise and innovations. The target audiences are both internal (GMs, Marketing and HN Directors, ELN Global community), as well as external: key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals and scientists, policy makers and media.

Other key responsibilities

  • Leading the development of a clear, concise and compelling scientific communication roadmap for internally and externally facing audiences to underpin our scientific expertise in the first 1000 days. In particular with focus on the Human Milk Research and Allergy category.
  • Set and drive our Digital communication strategy, including management and optimization of the current digital platforms
  • Drive the Newsflow process: lead a transversal R&I team to define what are the big scientific stories and key messages we need to tell and to whom, internally and externally
  • Lead the Channel strategy: utilize the appropriate platforms to drive the awareness of science behind ELN brands

About You

You have a Master degree or pHD in scientific discipline Nutrition or Food Science (MUST HAVE) and a solid experience in a dynamic and international research environment or the food industry (min. 3 years). Communications and/or Marketing experience highly desirable, with proven track record in strategic communication planning and dissemination. The key skills for this role are networking excellent project leadership capabilities. Excellent knowledge of English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of the Chinese languages is an advantage.

To be successful in this position it is important that you have the ability to lead and co-ordinate cross functional projects with complex stakeholder engagement and alignment inside and outside the organization. You have excellent communication skills (in English) to interact with the multiple global stakeholders and to tailor messaging to the diverse audiences. Additionally, you are a strategic thinker who can manage complexity and can build strong and long-lasting relationships with people from diverse nationalities. Finally, you are a team player, respecting others, building connections and relations, with ownership attitude, engaging others to find solutions.
