A key responsibility of the Danone Specialized Nutrition External Communications team is to drive greater visibility of Nutricia's science and innovation in early life nutrition and medical nutrition with general public audiences.
About the Job
In this role, you will join a talented team of external communications specialists, reporting to the External Communications Director for Danone Specialized Nutrition. This team works to define a global external communications strategy for specialized nutrition targeting general public audience, based on business priorities, consistent with and nourishing company positioning. The team develops content for traditional and social media outreach, acting as an expert communications hub, supporting country and global corporate teams in proactive and reactive external communications regarding Danone Specialized Nutrition.
As part of the Corporate Affairs team for Specialized Nutrition, you will work closely with the global internal communications and public affairs teams in Amsterdam. . You will also work seamlessly with the Danone global corporate communications team based in Paris and will need to build close working relationships with Danone external communications teams in local markets.
Key business interlocutors for the development of external communications strategy and content related to the various therapeutic areas in which the Nutricia brand is active include global research, medical affairs, healthcare and consumer & digital marketing teams.
Your main accountabilities are:
- Oversee and drive an external communications (news) calendar working with relevant functional teams
- Editorial responsibility for signing off content for external use, consulting with relevant external communications topic lead, regulatory teams, senior/specialist staff as required
- Adapt news-driven content from Danone’s specialized nutrition businesses into the appropriate brand voice, to feed both Danone company and Nutricia brand social media channels
- Proactively use online and social media listening tools to inform external communications content development (topicality, relevance, search engine optimization)
- Develop multi-channel (online & offline) PR toolkits (press releases, background information, talking points, and social media assets) for use by local external communications teams
- Develop / update Danone Specialized Nutrition and ‘Nutricia’ brand external communications tools (online / offline) on a regular basis (corporate presentation, company/brand descriptive content online, media factsheets etc.)

You are a creative and enthusiastic external communications professional with at least 7 years of proven experience in driving proactive corporate/ consumer-oriented digital communications programs. Experience in communications in a regulated environment e.g. pharma, food, MedTech is highly desired. You have a strong affinity for health / healthcare topics and can decode complex scientific or business information into layman's language, making it accessible for a broad /general audience.
You have a strong background in community management on social media, including social media crisis / issue management. You have excellent copy-writing skills, able to describe complex business information in an easily understandable way, tailored to a broad audience. As strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality, you can build relationships at all levels in a multicultural environment. You have strong planning and organizing skills and can deliver high-quality projects. You are digitally savvy, result-oriented, with an eye for detail. You have an excellent command of the English language s(native/fluent; both written and spoken), a good command of Dutch and/or French are an advantage.
