About the Job
As our new Demand Planning Intern you will be joining a team that focuses on the newly merged unit of Specialized Nutrition (previously Early Life Nutrition and Advanced Medical Nutrition). SN operates its Supply Chain with a centralized integrated model requiring strong forecast accuracy and demand management. By working closely with Sales Units they enable service levels to work at optimum costs and inventory levels. Specifically, as our intern you will be working within the Europe Team, supporting the demand animation for markets outside of Europe delivered from EU factories.
Your main responsibilities will be to support the team with consolidating, animating, understanding and challenging the demand signals from all markets by keeping track of all influential factors in the countries where we operate, in order to understand the “big picture”. Thereafter you will:
- Extract and consolidate the data in order to create insightful dashboards
- Efficiently share and discuss the insights to the different CBU’s
- Bring together all insights to plan and communicate accurate demand forecast to the supply chain
- Continuously search for improvements in forecasting accuracy
In addition to the above mentioned tasks you will be supporting the project of harmonizing the demand planning processes of the new Specialized Nutrition Unit. The team is looking forward to hearing your ideas!
In order to be a valuable addition to this team you must be a fast learner, team player, have positive energy and your strong communication skills enable you to have clear and effective communication with stakeholders. We are searching for a candidate with an analytical mindset, who’s able to deep dive into excel spreadsheets for efficient analysis. Additionally, your eye for detail and logical mindset allows you to spot critical information in the data provided, while understanding the big picture. You are not afraid to move forward on your own initiative because of your proactive work ethic and ability to work autonomously.
In addition, you must meet the following requirements:
- You are enrolled as a Bachelor/Master student for the whole duration of the internship in the field of Business/Engineering (If you are a non-EU citizen, you must be enrolled at a Dutch university)
- You are fluent in English – written and verbal
- You are willing to relocate/travel to Hoofddorp, NL.
- You are available as soon as possible for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days a week

As our new demand planning intern you will have the opportunity to gain a global understanding of the supply chain process in a large complex organization such as Danone. In this challenging but rewarding position you will gain an overall view of the big picture and learn how each aspect influences the different steps of the process. Although you will have the closeness of your small team in Hoofddorp, you will have the chance to connect and grow your network on a global level. We offer a monthly internship allowance plus reimbursement of home-work commuting cost in the Netherlands.
