About the Job
You will be a valuable asset of the Global Procurement Dairy Ingredients team, and will support senior buyers with day-to-day business, within the category of Whey Derivatives. We offer you a great opportunity to look into dive into one of the essential resources of Danone, to collaborate in a multicultural environment and to be a key part of the implementation of sourcing strategies. You will be fully involved and have real responsibilities within business processes, supplier performance’s evaluation in the manufacturing facilities, tracking implementation of corporate contracts, and generating and supporting productivity and optimization projects.
- Spend Data & Analysis
- Consolidate data from complete network - 23 supply points across Europe, Asia and Americas
- Complete analysis and forecast cycles for each supplier
- Communicate results and forecasts to the appropriate factories
- Market Analysis & Reporting
- Track and report history and future trends for each country
- Connect with Key Market intelligence stakeholders (internal & external) to stay up to date of current trends and cycles
- Productivity Program
- Support the project of improving productivity
- Monitor progress
- Report and communicate results to buyers and Management
- Supplier Contract Management
- Make sure allocations are compliant with existing supplier contracts
- Negotiate contracts when necessary
In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to further develop your project management skills by engaging in various projects that meet the current needs of the team, and you will be encouraged to share your own ideas and bring them to life.
You are a Bachelor’s/Master’s student in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Industrial Engineering or another related field. Previous relevant experience is considered a plus. You are highly motivated and proactive. You have strong communication skills and like being in touch with multiple stakeholders, internally and externally. You are a self-starter, curious, and you are not afraid to share your opinion or ask questions when needed. You have proficient knowledge of Excel that can be used for efficient data analysis, and analytical skills to transform data into useful insights. Also, you are eager to learn and thrive in a dynamic environment that continuously challenges you. It is possible to complete your thesis during this internship.
Please make sure you meet the following requirements:
- You are enrolled as a student during the whole internship period (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to be enrolled at a Dutch university);
- You are available to start in mid-June 2021 for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days per week;
- You are fluent in English - spoken and written;
- You are able to work from Hoofddorp, NL if the COVID-19 situation allows us to go to the office.
- Please note you must move to the Netherlands to be able to complete this internship.

You will be part of the Global Procurement Dairy Ingredients team, which is responsible for buying ingredients for our Specialized Nutrition business worldwide. You will work closely with and learn from buyers in the team, and will be supervised by Alfredo Woodgate, Global Senior Buyer, Dairy Ingredients & Whey Proteins.

As our Global Procurement Intern you will have the opportunity to be involved in defining the long-term procurement strategy for Danone, giving you the chance to have an impact on the future of the company’s processes. We offer a gross monthly internship allowance* of 450 (HBO students) or 550 (University students) euros per month and a contribution towards travel if required. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
*Please note that you must get a BSN number in order to receive the full allowance.
