Internship Digital Manufacturing - New Technologies
About the Job
You will be part of the Specialized Nutrition (SN) Digital Manufacturing team of Danone and be working within a new, international team that builds up a strategy for our specialized nutrition entity. Your role is to explore new technologies which could be implemented in our factories, all over the world. You do this by conducting research, assessing suppliers’ solutions, understanding the opportunities and consequences and creating a business case. Within the team, you will play an essential role in working with colleagues at all the plants worldwide. Therefore, you will be in contact with all the different point-of-contacts to implement new technology in our plants.
As our SN Digital Manufacturing Intern, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Support the team in executing the Digital Manufacturing strategy for SN
- Create a benchmark of existing plant-solutions
- Explore the market to find potential new technologies to implement
- Research the market to understand functionality of new technology
- Create a database of suppliers
- Formalize business cases and best practices
Next to the above mentioned, there will be as well some ad-hoc projects depending on the time.

We are looking for a digital enthusiastic and analytically-minded candidate with a profound interest or curiosity in the field of technology. You have prior understanding of general digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 concepts enabling you to fully understand the market. You are a person with an open personality and strong communication skills in order to successfully interact with stakeholders from around the world. You are eager to learn from your team but also willing and able to work autonomously.
There are also some hard requirements that you should consider:
- You need to be enrolled as a student during the whole duration of the internship (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to be enrolled at a Dutch university);
- You are fluent in English – oral and written;
- You are available for a minimum of 4 to 6 months, 4-5 days a week; Flexible start date
- You are able to work in Hoofddorp, Netherlands

The digital manufacturing team is in charge of all the plants worldwide. After building the first lighthouse plant in Poland in 2018, we aim to optimize our strategy to roll-out the best planthouse solutions to our different locations. Therefore, we will implement the newest digital solution in four more plants by the end of 2019 and in five more plants in 2020.
We offer a monthly internship allowance dependent on the educational institution that you are enrolled in. Our work environment is very international, which will allow you to greatly improve your language, intercultural and interpersonal skills. There is also the opportunity to combine a graduation assignment with this position.
