Milk Planning Manager

About the role

In this role you will work within the Milk Operations team responsible for the different locations in France & Belgium. The mission of this team is to optimize the milk bill through the management of supplies (purchases) and excess milk (sales) of the plants depending on milk collect and manufacturing needs.

As the Milk Planning Manager for Belgium & France, you are responsible to secure the milk  & milk derivates supply of the 6 plants you will be in charge of, at the optimum cost. Your function is to plan milk & milk derivates situation (excess or deficit) on different horizon to take the best decision on the milk market.

A sample of your responsibilities are

  • Improving processes & tools to gain in efficiency, and implement changes within the team in a positive & inspiring way
  • Designing, updating & animating KPI within the Milk area & with Operations (both headquarters & plants) to reach the best compromise on secure supply & optimize cost
  • Managing the milk financial reporting for Belgium & support rolling forecast exercises
  • Project management in the milk team

The Milk Planning Manager will work on a diversity of missions, not only within the area of planning, but also related to finance. Besides the many contacts and relationships you will have internally you will be in close contact with external stakeholders (both clients as suppliers) as well.
Within your role you manage one direct report, based in France who is responsible for the planning on short and midterm for 5 plants in France.
In addition to your day-to-day activities this role offers you the opportunity to lead and be involved in different projects, even internationally. Projects can be related to f.e. improving tools and process related to the Milk planning in the European area.

About You

To be successful in this role you have a master degree in Economics or Engineering (or equal) and  at least 5 years of experience within a supply chain or finance environment. A first experience leading a team would be a great plus!

In addition you:

  • Are able to fluently speak English, Dutch. If you are fluent in French, that would be a big advantage as well!
  • Have strong analytical skills
  • Have a commercial mindset
  • Are able to switch between working autonomous and within a team

For the role of Milk Planning Manager we expect regular (1 to 2 times per month) travel to Paris.
