The Patent Attorney will lead and manage the global patent activities within dedicated projects for the Specialized Nutrition division, including to identify and protect innovations. This will include drafting and filing of patent applications and oppositions, and is directly responsible for all aspects of prosecution of the patent portfolio in their area of accountability. The appointee will also provide freedom to operate and the validity advice and develop and drive patent strategy.
We are looking for a Patent Attorney to start as of September / October 2019 in our R&I division based in Utrecht, NL.
About the Job
You will work within the Patent platform of Danone Nutricia Research. The role will suit someone with sound commercial awareness, good communication skills and a constructive and diplomatic approach. Within Danone Specialized Nutrition, patents continue to play an increasingly important role.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop, operate and drive patent strategy in global projects
- Ensure implementation of patent strategy by working closely with stakeholders
- Responsible for the patent prosecution, drafting and filling patent applications;
- Managing global patent activities within several projects;
- Patent oppositions
To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have:
- Qualified (European) patent attorney and Master’s degree in food science, biotechnology, (organic) chemistry or another relevant technical field
- Fluent in English (is a must) and able to communicate with different stakeholders at different levels in the organization
- Able to work in a dynamic international environment as part of a team and independently
- Having commercial awareness and diplomatic approach
- Able to travel depending on the occasions
