Senior Assistant Scientist Developmental Physiology

The role of Senior Assistant Scientist is positioned in the Global Center of Excellence for Metabolism and Growth and will report into the Team Leader Nutritional Programming. As a Senior Assistant Scientist you will work on multiple research projects a year from start to finish, where lab work and desk work is almost equally spread. The role is part of a cross functional team, with many internal and external connections. You will support and execute high standard studies, develop publications and contribute to the translation of discovery science into innovations.
Other key responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, design and perform research in pre-clinical in-vivo models
- Statistical testing and data analysis
- Develop science to support the storytelling for new innovations
- Provide scientific expertise to other team members and/or colleagues
- Effectively support collaborative projects with internal and external partners, a.o. academic groups
Your Mission: Drive and execute high standard and complex in-vivo studies, from start (protocol development, DEC applications) to finish (reporting) according to international standards and law.
We are looking for an Senior Assistant Scientist with:
- A HBO/Bachelor or Master degree in Life Sciences, Nutrition, Physiology or Biomedical Science
- Around 1-2 years of experience running in-vivo research
- Experience in lab-related tasks to support new concept generation in the field of Nutritional Programming
- Good understanding of Article 9 or 12 or comparable
- Experience in scientific writing
In order to be successful in the role of Senior Assistant Scientist Developmental Physiology you have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English to interact with internal stakeholders at Danone Nutricia Research and with external stakeholders, such as universities. Additionally you are a strong, pro-active professional, who can work independently within a complex and multinational environment. Furthermore you are an open and transparent team player with a passion for science and discovery.
